About The Role:
The Senior Project Manager provides technical leadership and strategic oversight for commercial solar and electrical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Working in partnership with the Project Manager, this role leverages advanced electrical construction expertise to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements and industry standards. The Senior Project Manager provides technical guidance throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout while mentoring project teams, supporting field operations, and fostering strong client relationships. The ideal candidate has extensive commercial electrical construction experience, in-depth knowledge of electrical systems and photovoltaic installations, and proven leadership skills that contribute to successful project execution and organizational growth. This position is based full-time out of the Milwaukee Arch Solar C&I HQ (7764 N. 81st Street Milwaukee, WI 53223).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead Project Execution – Partner with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and successfully deliver multiple commercial solar and electrical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
· Provide Technical Leadership – Serve as the electrical subject matter expert by reviewing designs, ensuring code compliance, resolving technical issues, and guiding project teams, field personnel, and stakeholders.
· Manage Project Performance – Oversee budgets, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, manpower, and overall project financial and operational performance to maximize profitability and efficiency.
· Coordinate Stakeholders & Contracts – Manage subcontractors, vendors, utilities, inspectors, contracts, change orders, permitting, RFIs, and project documentation to ensure quality and timely execution.
· Ensure Quality, Safety & Risk Management – Implement quality assurance, maintain OSHA and company safety compliance, and proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
· Develop Teams & Support Leadership – Mentor project staff and field leadership while assisting executives with project pursuits, resource planning, operational decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Maintain Communication & Reporting – Build strong client and stakeholder relationships through proactive communication and provide regular reporting on project status, financials, schedules, productivity, and key performance metrics.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Education:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
Experience and/or training:
· Extensive Industry Experience – Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience in commercial electrical construction, commercial solar (PV), or related electrical contracting.
· Strong Technical Expertise – In-depth knowledge of commercial electrical and PV systems, NEC requirements, utility interconnection, electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
· Project & Financial Management Skills – Proven experience with project scheduling, estimating, procurement, cost control, forecasting, contract administration, and permitting processes.
· Leadership & Team Development – Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop project management teams while effectively managing subcontractors and project stakeholders.
· Communication & Decision-Making – Excellent customer relationship, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Licenses/Certificates:
· Valid Driver’s license with good driving record and proof of insurance, required
· Licensed Journeyman Electrician, strongly preferred
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred
· OSHA 30 Certified, required
· NABCEP certification, preferred
· Drone Pilots License, preferred
Technology/Equipment:
· Advanced proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or equivalent construction management software.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project financial analysis.
· Experience reviewing engineering drawings and electrical design software.
· Previous experience as an Electrical Foreman, Superintendent, or Construction Manager on commercial PV installations over 200 kW, strongly preferred.
· Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience on commercial solar or electrical construction projects preferred.
· Thorough knowledge of fall protection, rooftop safety, and OSHA construction safety standards.
