Professional Scorers evaluate student responses to subject-related open-ended questions according to a customer supplied scoring guide. Candidates must qualify after completion of training to begin scoring.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate student responses to open-ended questions in a reliable manner and score according to customer-supplied scoring guide.
- Successfully internalize training and customer scoring guide.
- May be required to pass the qualifying test before scoring.
- Must be able to put aside personal biases and apply scoring guide according to customer requirements.
- Must be committed to working the required number of hours each week for two weeks (September 8, 2026 – September 21, 2026).
- Able to meet rate and quality management standards established for the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 college credits or teaching certification from any state in Social Studies
- Must submit transcript or HS social studies teaching certification (any state)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
- Available to work 40 hours per week from 8 AM – 4:30 PM CT
- Must be available to work all 10 days of the 2-week availability period
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Previous scoring experience is a plus!
Working Conditions
Access to a personal computer that meets the requirements of the scoring system, internet service, and telephone connection. For security reasons, scorers may not use shared office computers or work from institutional or public computer labs.
Home scorers must comply to the minimal systems needed:
a. Windows users must be running Windows 10.
b. Mac users must be running OS X 10.11 or newer.
c. The only supported web browser is Google Chrome.
d. It is advisable that your screen resolution must be at least 1024x768.
e. Your internet connection must be at least 5 Mbps.
f. Mobile devices, hotspots, and tablets are not supported.
4. You will need speakers or a headset for training and scoring activities.
5. You will need a webcam for video conferencing.
6. Access to the second monitor is recommended but not required.
7. Upon hire, you will need to have access to a mobile device with texting capabilities to support Microsoft Authentication (Multi-Factor Authenticator)

· Candidates must qualify after training to continue scoring.
