We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Director to oversee clinical operations and therapist leadership across programs located within San Rafael, California.
The Clinical Director will provide strategic and operational oversight of clinical programming across more than 20 residential treatment beds spanning two programs. This individual will directly support and oversee therapists, clinical supervisors, and treatment team operations while ensuring high-quality care delivery, regulatory compliance, and clinical consistency across programs.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within behavioral health environments and has a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary clinical teams in residential treatment, inpatient, outpatient, or other higher-acuity behavioral health settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for clinical programming across residential treatment sites in Malibu and San Rafael
- Supervise, mentor, and support therapists and clinical leadership staff across programs
- Ensure consistency and quality of clinical care delivery across multiple facilities and markets
- Oversee clinical development initiatives, treatment programming, and evidence-based practice implementation
- Maintain accountability for clinical operations supporting 60+ residential treatment beds
- Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, psychiatry, nursing, and admissions teams to support census and client care goals
- Monitor documentation quality, treatment planning, utilization review, and compliance standards
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development of clinical staff
- Assist in crisis management, complex case consultation, and escalation support when needed
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards
- Participate in program expansion initiatives, workflow development, and clinical process improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted clinical licensure required (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PsyD, or equivalent)
- Previous leadership experience within behavioral health settings required
- Prior experience in residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient behavioral health, or related higher-acuity treatment environments required
- Experience overseeing therapists and multidisciplinary treatment teams required
- Strong understanding of clinical operations, compliance standards, and evidence-based treatment practices
- Experience working with adolescents, young adults, and family systems strongly preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Pay: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
