Bilingual Drill Crew Supervisor to lead our Columbia, South Carolina market. This individual will oversee daily underground construction operations, supervise field crews, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Position Summary

The Bilingual Drill Crew Supervisor is responsible for supervising directional drilling crews, coordinating daily production, ensuring compliance with company safety standards, and serving as the communication link between English-speaking management and Spanish-speaking field personnel.This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, mentoring employees, and driving production while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of directional drilling crews.
• Plan and coordinate daily work assignments and production goals.
• Read and interpret construction prints, utility maps, and bore profiles.
• Ensure all work meets customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings in both English and Spanish.
• Train, mentor, and develop drill operators, locators, and laborers.
• Coordinate utility locates, potholing, traffic control, and restoration activities.
• Monitor equipment usage and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Complete daily production reports, job logs, and safety documentation.
• Track installed footage, materials, and completed work for billing purposes.
• Communicate project updates with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and customers.
• Resolve field issues while minimizing project delays.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of directional drilling experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
• Strong knowledge of:
• HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
• Fiber optic construction
• Underground utility installation
• Utility locating
• Bore planning and execution
• Ability to read construction plans and utility drawings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications construction.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• CDL (Preferred but not required).
• Experience operating Vermeer or Ditch Witch drilling equipment.
• Knowledge of South Carolina utility regulations and permitting requirements.
