Position Summary
FW Burns is seeking an experienced and dependable USPS Contract Hauler Operations Lead Supervisor to oversee nightly transportation operations and support the successful execution of USPS mail transportation services.
This role is responsible for ensuring mail is transported securely, accurately, and on schedule while supporting drivers, coordinating operations, resolving issues, and maintaining compliance with USPS and company safety standards.
The ideal candidate brings prior USPS contract hauling experience, strong leadership abilities, operational problem-solving skills, and a commitment to reliability and accountability.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Oversight
- Ensure mail is transported safely, accurately, and on schedule.
- Monitor nightly transportation operations and address operational or logistical issues as they arise.
- Coordinate schedules, routes, and driver assignments to support service expectations.
- Maintain communication with drivers and operational leadership throughout shifts.
Driver Supervision & Training
- Train, mentor, and support drivers on operational procedures and expectations.
- Monitor driver performance and provide coaching as needed.
- Promote professionalism, accountability, and strong communication across the team.
- Assist with onboarding and ongoing operational training.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all vehicles are properly inspected and maintained before dispatch.
- Verify drivers follow company safety procedures and USPS operational requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and address safety concerns promptly.
- Support compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Reporting & Problem Solving
- Manage daily trip reports and operational documentation.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
- Communicate delays, service issues, and operational updates appropriately.
- Assist leadership in improving operational efficiency and service reliability.
QualificationsRequired
- CDL Class A license with no restrictions.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous driving experience.
- Previous supervisor, lead, or driver management experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to complete operational reporting.
- Ability to work evening and overnight hours, including weekends as needed.
Preferred
- Previous USPS contract hauling experience.
- Experience working in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations environments.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
