About the Job
You will run surgical operations at our Butler, PA site, owning the day-to-day flow from presurgical workup through case completion. This is a hands-on manager role for someone who wants to be on the floor, not behind a desk.
iOR Partners is building the office-based surgery model for ophthalmology, bringing surgical capability directly into practices instead of routing patients to hospital ORs or traditional ASC's. It's a real shift in how cataract and ophthalmic surgery gets delivered, and this role puts you at the center of executing it! You will be our extension at this site - the local owner of clinical execution, compliance, and team performance backed by centralized teams in revenue cycle, accreditation, materials management, and provider relations.
This role is a strong fit for someone with ophthalmic surgical or ASC operations experience in ophthalmology who wants more ownership and a clear path toward broader operational leadership.
What You'll Own
Surgical day execution
- Run daily surgical operations: scheduling, patient flow, room turnover, and on-time case starts.
- Drive throughout and minimize downtime by tightening the schedule and removing
- friction between clinical and surgical teams.
- Step in clinically when patient flow demands it to perform pre-surgical diagnostics, workups, and testing coordination (biometry, topography, OCT, visual fields).
- Make sure clinical findings translate cleanly into surgical planning so cases are ready when the surgeon walks in.Compliance and accreditation
- Coordinate OSHA, HIPAA, and state and federal compliance at the site.
- Lead accreditation readiness and maintenance (QUAD A/AAAASF, or TJC where applicable), including audits, documentation, and survey preparation.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation across all surgical cases within our EHR.
Team and site leadership
- Coordinate, train, and oversee surgical personnel on-site (specific scope depends on the site model).
- Serve as the on-site point of contact across iOR's centralized teams: revenue cycle, accreditation, compliance, materials management, and provider relations.
- Track and improve operational performance including utilization, efficiency, and patient experience.
Growth and referrals
- Partner with our Provider Relations Manager on optometric outreach: build and maintain relationships with referring optometrists and represent the practice in market.
- Work with our materials management team on inventory, vendor coordination, and cost control.
- Collaborate with revenue cycle on documentation and reimbursement workflows so clinical operations and billing stay aligned.
