The Instructor has the responsibility for instructing a variety of Criminal Justice courses, utilizing traditional classroom management and distance learning technology.
1. Teach courses in the Criminal Justice Technology program;
2. Develop course syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/course taught;
3. Prepare and deliver lectures;
4. Research and maintain currency in the related areas of expertise through professional development activities;
5. Utilize technology and innovative techniques for instruction;
6. Abide by all policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College, the Emergency Services Division, and the Department;
7. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality;
8. Maintain accurate student records;
9. Ensure that all college reports and requested information are submitted promptly and accurately to the Department Chair;
10. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice
2. One year or more of teaching instructional or training programs.
3. Five or more years of work experience in the Criminal Justice Field
1. Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with Master’s Degree in related field;
2. Five to Ten (or more) years of work experience in the Criminal Justice field.
3. One year or more experience of teaching instructional training programs at a community college or work-based training programs.
4. Experience using college information databases, such as Moodle and WebAdvisor.
