Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly qualified Lead Preschool Teacher to design and guide engaging learning experiences for children. In this role, you will lead an age-appropriate classroom, creating a structured yet joyful environment focused on active learning, early socialization, and foundational skills.
Note: This position strictly requires candidates to meet the State of New Hampshire’s Child Care Licensing Unit (CCLU) requirements for Lead Teacher status upon hire.
Core Responsibilities:
- Classroom Leadership: Plan, implement, and lead age-appropriate, hands-on daily lesson plans that promote curiosity, socialization, and cognitive development.
- Student Engagement: Foster an environment that nurtures creativity, confidence, and early academic skills through play-based and active learning.
- Team Collaboration: Partner effectively with classroom Assistant and/or Associate teacher to ensure a smooth, safe, and positive daily schedule.
- Family Communication: Build strong, professional relationships with parents, offering meaningful updates on their child’s developmental milestones and classroom experiences.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy classroom environment in accordance with NH licensed childcare standards and school policies.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet at least one of the following New Hampshire state qualification pathways for center-based Lead Teachers:
- A minimum of 12 credits in early childhood education (including a course in Child Growth & Development) plus 3,000 hours of documented experience in a licensed program.
- A current, non-expired Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in center-based programs.
- A current teacher certification in Early Childhood, Elementary, or Special Education issued by the Department of Education.
- An Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
- Successful completion of a 2-year vocational career/technical course in teacher education plus 9 credits in early childhood coursework and 1,000 hours of supervised experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass all mandatory NH state-complied background checks and fingerprinting for childcare personnel.
- Must hold (or be willing to obtain) valid CPR and First-Aid Certifications prior to the start of the school year.
- Must complete the required licensing health form indicating good physical health.
