Pros

Good benefits, some raises, free food, free/discounted veterinary services, lots of free samples and preventatives, met some great people, learned an incredible amount.

Cons

Short staffed constantly, making you work overtime at least 2-3 a pay period. Grandfathered in staff who are untouchable and will not be disciplined no matter what. Poor hiring practices, hiring people with no experience or background checks. Overcompensating for irrational clients who abuse their staff, and WILL throw their staff under the bus to save face.

Pros

Good Benefits and room for advancement if you get in with the right “people” aka the popular people in Florida. Growing company.

Cons

Toxic environment and burnout epidemic in veterinary overall, Several members from corporate do not support frontline office staff and values revenue more than staff and patients. National Medical Director is dismissive of feedback on local level when there are clinical concerns that concern staff about their patients, is more into popularity status and social media and being liked. Executive team should hold higher standard of professionalism. Meetings feel like pep rallies or frat parties, a bunch of cheerleaders and partiers instead of medical and business professionals.

Pros

This company bought the veterinary practice that I worked at. Previously I did not have health insurance through my company. This allowed me to have health insurance through my company. Even though the benefits were extraordinarily expensive and not affordable at all

Cons

This company is the same money hungry corporation as all other corporations and veterinary medicine. There was a 6-month honeymoon in which everything seemed great. The benefits of the offered were extraordinary expensive and definitely not affordable on the salary paid. I paid a quarter of my salary every paycheck to get benefits that barely covered anything I needed to have done The management hired by the corporation was ill-equipped to handle the job. All the leadership that was done was belittling and could considered a type of bullying. Promotions were given to people with less or no experience . People that were promoted to leadership roles had no training on how to lead. People were hired because they would work for cheap, not because of their skills. Employees were treated like commodities, not like people. The workplace was not toxic prior to being purchased by the corporation but quickly became so. Certain people in the hospital became quick targets and Were made to feel unwanted and stupid. The hourly wage that was paid was extremely low, especially considering the experience of some of the people that work there. Amount of pay time off provided was ridiculously low. Numerous times that I know of, the behavior of the management was reported to the corporate office and nothing was ever done about it.
