Pros
Amazing learning opportunity if you've spent whole career in commercial insurance previously to learn more about tech, software, and cybersecurity excellent tools relative to most insurance companies Excellent claims team
Cons
no 401k matching extremely small bonuses relative to targets for MM UWers leadership proposed (and then retracted) fining underwriters $500-$700 each for making spelling mistakes on extremely manual processes extremely long hours of very repetitive work Very quickly achieved sky high valuation relative to underlying metrics so very limited equity opportunity for those joining young immature team, very dishonest in interviews. Silo'd teams creates lot of drama. Pretty unprofessional overall growing pains - leadership was very disorganized lack of underwriting expertise underwriters have to work with a team of top line driven sales people in the same territories with no cyber or underwriting experience annoying "facebook" like cult type culture, people constantly slacking you at 11pm on a Tuesday to chase tiny accounts Asked team members to share hotel rooms with 2 roommates at mandatory offsite during pandemic. At the same time, the company also wants to start underwriting EPLI... lol
