Pros

so many resources, great people across the firm. Lots of design opportunities. fast growing firm. Collaboration with internal engineers .

Cons

Toxic management in San Diego , they operate different from other DLR offices, very tight on pay raise and so much favoritism in promotions.

Pros

You’ll meet some talented people (though most are burnt out or planning their exit).

Cons

Toxic culture driven by performative positivity and popularity contests. Promotions are rarely based on skill or merit, it’s about how well you play the social game. Severe overwork and underpayment. You’re expected to work a minimum of 45 hours per week (often much more) but only paid for 40. No overtime compensation. Annual layoffs, often unexplained and with no warning or feedback. Feels like a calculated move to boost the company’s numbers rather than address performance or restructuring. Despite the endless grind, the design quality is average at best. Morale is low. Most employees are miserable but pretend otherwise just to survive. You will never be promoted unless you have the right friends at the firm. Work-life balance is non-existent. Do not believe the hype.
