Pros

In the last year, Ronin's leadership team has pivoted and grown an unbelievable amount in response to culture surveys as well as an evolving business model. Teams, managers, directors, and above have all responded so well in helping evolve operating models, delivery roadmaps, and architectural guidance across several teams. Delegation and mentorship have become the new norms as engineers and scientists are more empowered than ever to author a shared vision alongside c-suite leaders and execute with nothing but support and trust.

Cons

As the company evolves and grows, several aspects of the overall compensation package have shifted in a way that benefits the company's ability to expand and approach compensation more equitably, but in a way where most of that benefit goes to the company instead of the employees. For new team members, the compensation package is status quo, but for original employees, it has shifted away from a very flexible model to a more scalable but less valuable model. The People Team is very approachable about these topics, but amidst an industry where benefits and perks are being reduced in aggregate, it would be very powerful to stand behind the team in a way that benefits them, too. (Compensation is still competitive, benefits have just shifted)

Pros

Lots of talented and motivated ICs and engineering managers.

Cons

- Awful lack of direction from c-suite - Culture of transparency heavily eroded with the onset of pandemic - Leadership was clearly trying to hide lack of growth and failed monetization strategies. Made layoffs and try to cover up why. - Siloed work culture, lack of coordination between teams - Poor product direction - Insufficient QA - Tied to Oracle at the hip. Thought that provided security, guaranteed funding from Larry Ellison. Mistaken assumption.
