Pros

Doing really important work for patients with heart disease. Fully remote culture, but amazing and cohesive team that has a lot of fun. Feels great seeing hard work turn into amazing care for patients.

Cons

Remote culture can be hard and would like more opportunities for all-company off sites.

Making a difference

Pros

I've been at Heartbeat Health for over a year, and have enjoyed my time here. We're on the bleeding edge, with a focus on virtual-first cardiology, and a strong tech & product team to build the tools that we need to execute. + Strong, fun team, dedicated to building a cohesive culture & helping our patients + Flexible, work-from-home approach + Really mission oriented -- we're making a difference for patients with the most pervasive chronic conditions in the country. + Nimble in the way that you might hope a small company might be + Strong company alignment toward a shared vision + Good benefits, especially for a small company

Cons

Nothing out of the ordinary, especially for a venture-backed company. - The company is largely remote, and it'd be nice to get together more frequently to get to know teammates outside of work. The company does its best with fun games and get-to-know-you exercises, but it's not the same. - We are on the leading edge, so at times we're figuring things out as we go.

Great place to be if you want to use your talent to create something meaningful

Pros

One quality that you find in good leaders is they seek to serve, not lead. You can definitely find those leadership at Heartbeat. I feel like they do most of the difficult work to make sure the rest of the company can run smoothly. And seeing that easily motivates the rest of us to give the extra effort on our work. At times there can be a lot of work, but the company really does respect each one of us to manage our own time. So when the time comes for long hours, you do it because you know you have to: not because you feel like you have to since others are putting in long hours. The company as a whole really tries to attract talent who are truly passionate about helping patients, so working with people who share common goals ( a good one if I have to add) is a big plus and motivation factor. I have no problem of speaking up or pointing out negative things to the leadership and they do listen to you and try to fix things. Overall the people here are great to work with and really try to listen to feedback from one another.

Cons

The usual pains of a growing startup. The famous analogy of trying to build a plane as you fall down is common amongst startups. This place is no different. But then again most people join startups knowing that they like this particular challenge.
