Pros

They really are a team. The employees care about each other, whether they are higher or lower on the pecking order.

Cons

The safety regulations are terrible. I could spot about a thousand OSHA violations a day. From having boats lifted with employees still on it to all types of differerent things? Safety is not at all a priority.

Pros

Schedules are made a month in advance.

Cons

Women who work in the lobby are expected to accept creepy comments and coyly dismiss invitations from creepy men who own yachts and think their money is a free pass to treat people like objects. If you are ogled by an old rich guy while working dispatch, you're expected to simper and smile at him. Feedback was dishonest when requested - it's fine if you think someone isn't a good fit, but you may as well be honest if they ask up front. Every day you spend lying is a day they could spend finding another job and a day you could spend running your business without an underqualified employee. The manager who hired me was new and fairly inexperienced at management; perhaps this has changed in the past year, but I'm not sure.
