Pros

The location of the Banbury office is good.

Cons

Dreadful Management, if any at all across all brands! They have no idea what the staff do day to day. Hard work is not rewarded, no sick pay, minimum annual leave, unachievable bonus, expected to work long hours, male dominated environment. Nobody actually lives by the code of values, even senior management joke about them!

Pros

We live by our Code of Values which creates an inviting, team culture. The financial compensation as a president has been beyond expectations. It's a huge plus to be part of a visionary, growth oriented company with so much upside potential ahead.

Cons

None really to speak of, I've been here 15 years! Of course, no organization is perfect but there are no glaring problems.

Pros

They offer drinks in the break room and some of the employees are really great people with a desire for more.

Cons

Please stay away from this company. They just had a bunch of employees write good reviews at the top to cover up the bad ones from former employees who are really telling the truth. Now what kind of company does that? If you have a great company you wouldn't need to to that. Code of Ethics is a joke that some in top management do not live by. They are great code of ethics but if all employees don't stand by them they ring hollow. It's a highly toxic, non enjoyable work environment with people that smile in your face. Certain managers will flat out lie on their employees to fit their narrative . There is micromanagement especially on the marketing side-the Irving office is the worst. The insurance is not great-you might as well not have any. No team camaraderie or team building. Leadership is greatly missing in the organization. No real room for advancement.

We do regularly solicit feedback from new and existing associates on their experience at Neighborly through engagement surveys and also encourage them to leave reviews on Glassdoor if they feel compelled to do so. We do not monitor or direct feedback in any way, and request everyone be honest in their feedback/opinion before posting on Glassdoor. We apologize if this process was taken out of context, but believe hearing from our associates is very important to further enhance the associate experience. We would be glad to discuss your concerns in greater detail with you. Please reach out to people.services@nbly.com.

Pros

Corporate adheres strictly to a code of values and even quotes them at the start of meetings. This may sound like an odd comment, but I feel like it is less common than believed... everyone is actually good at what they do and they try hard to contribute to the company goals within their roles. Nobody is in this brand to coast and fly under the radar. Personal development is mandatory, self-driven, and company supported. Our CEO is transparent in his intentions and honest in his conversations and that is a breathe of fresh air.

Cons

Working on multiple franchise brands at Neighborly can be very difficult if you are not great at multi-tasking and certainly isn't for someone who wants to "coast" in their career. Having over a dozen brands to manage can feel overwhelming at first, but if you push through it seems to get easier.

Toxic culture, no trust and two faced.

Pros

Modern office and the odd nice person. A good bonus scheme.

Cons

Managers were two faced and only cared about their jobs when it came down to it. Pretended to care about personal issues and illness but then said too much time off was taken when probation meeting came, boxes had to be ticked. Training was meant to be provided but I had to pick my own training, to then be told months later that I should have picked something different, even though I was given no budget, no guidelines or anything. No opportunity for flexibility. Office hours were strict. Code of values is ridiculous. Having to stand around the office and quote them in unison with each other is almost cult like. Felt like i could have left and never come back, and no one would have noticed. Manager was rarely in the office and neither was my colleague in my team. I was sat alone for a lot of my time there. There is no family there, no one would have noticed if i never came in. Very high stress, developed mental health issues working here. Now working somewhere where I want to get up in the morning.

Pros

Decent benefits and nice people. Probably also depends on which franchise system you work for within the company.

Cons

Gotta memorize those good old code of values. You'll need to start every meeting reciting them, they are gospel. Seemed like a very nice Christian organization. The company doesn't really care about individuals. Typical corporate BS, you only stay employed there at their whim. New CEO did nothing of note except mandate ridiculous growth that ended up as part of my goals, and if I couldn't meet the overly inflated goal, my income would suffer by 30%. Oh, and if you don't live by the headquarters, don't bother applying, they don't want any remote workers. Another word of caution, they have a Compensation Specialist on staff whose job it is to save the company money by making sure they don't pay anything more than the least they can get away with.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear you found the benefits and team members to be positive aspects of your time with us. We also appreciate your candid feedback on areas where you felt we fell short. Our Code of Values is a foundational part of our culture, and while we understand it may not resonate with everyone, it’s intended to guide our interactions and decisions with integrity and respect. That said, we recognize that how these values are integrated into daily work can vary, and we’re always open to improving how we live them out in meaningful ways. We’re sorry to hear that you felt unsupported in your role and that your compensation goals felt unrealistic. Our intent with performance-based goals is to align individual success with company growth, but we understand that balance is critical. Your feedback about remote work and compensation practices is also noted and we continue to evaluate our policies to ensure they are fair, inclusive, and aligned with the evolving needs of our team. Lastly, we take employee and customer feedback seriously. While it may not always be immediately visible, we do use survey results to inform our strategies and make improvements. We would love to speak with you on your feedback as well. Please email people.services@nbly.com. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and thank you again for your insights.

Pros

Neighborly has always let me expand my skills and use them to advance within the company Leadership has allowed me to manage my department/business unit with no micromanaging Growth is always a goal so it is very exciting to work with small business owners and help them achieve their goals and dreams. Very rewarding Culture - Code of values is truly followed. No company always does the right thing but how they handle hard situations is what is important.

Cons

The business has changed a lot in the 20+ years i have been involved and sometimes change is hard. The results of the change has been amazing as we are providing a much better product to our franchise owners and our ultimate customer the consumer of our services.
