Ascend's benefits are very good. The health care premiums are much cheaper than many other company's premiums. And the 401(k) match is generous, and you're vested right away.

Its competitive to local market. No pension but a good 401-k program.

No benefits were provided for contract workers. You had the same holidays as everyone else which was nice

Overall, good benefits in comparison to chemical industry. Medical is better than most in terms of coverage and out of pocket costs. Especially when compared to a number of companies that have gone to high deductible plans. Good 401K match. No pension, but unfortunately that is the norm for most chemical companies. Visual and dental comparable to most Chem companies..

Health Coverage is pretty good. They also provide dental, vision, life and disability.

401k match is 6% on 8%, not bad. medical and dental are middle of the road

As an intern/co-op, you get paid holidays and can opt-in for 401k benefits (with employer matching).

As an hourly co-op, benefits are OK. Relocation Assistance is generous as well as housing assistance. It is nice that they provide a fully furnished apartment for each co-op term subsidized to only $500 a month if you live alone or $250 a month with another co-op. Generous 401k with a 8% match for a co-op/intern is unheard of in the industry. However, no health insurance which can be a big issue considering most student co-ops and interns go to school or are from a different state, and their health insurance provider may not be in the state of the internship. No paid sick days or vacation. Unpaid time off is an option if you talk to your boss.
