Anonymous Buyer's Assistant

It is hard to explain. Carmax has wholesale cars, and what they consider retail or front lot cars. To my knowledge, they are very restrictive about employees buying retail cars. I have heard they will only let you buy cars that have been on the lot for a long amount of time. I am not 100 percent sure, as I have never tried to take advantage of this perk.

Retail cars can be purchased almost at cost. Wholesale cars can also be purchased at cost but there is no warranty or support after purchase. Service department is substantially undersized for the volume of cars sold.
