Pension Plan

Currently a very good defined benefit plan.

If you are lucky enough to finish your Career with XOM, the pension plan was a multiple of your final salary.

We still have the pension for now which is a great benefit that many dont have.

ExxonMobil provides options to invest in either various index funds or company stock. You are vested after 5 years and eligible for retirement after working 15 years and being at age 55

Minimal value if you get forced out.

Extremely beneficial if you stay a long time

One of the few companies left to give you an actual pension plan.

Great and high value plan if you stick around until retirement age (15 years service and age 55), you have to meet both conditions to receive the most value. If you leave before turning 55, even with over 15 years of service, you still count as someone who quit before retirement, resulting in a huge penalty.

Company still offers a pension plan. Employees are vested after 5 years of service with the company. Most employees work for 30+ years with the company.

Doesn't pay much but that's way more than what most others offer these days.
