Employee Discounts

You get items at a decent rate, make it worth it for sure. I want to say it's at a little bit above cost to the company. So not bad.

The employee prices beat out any competitor for almost any items. Discount is ~5% over cost.

Most items purchase through the employee discount option have very reasonable discount.

The private label Fastenal products are pretty cheap when using your discount, but the products also aren't very good. The prices at my local hardware store are almost the same as using my discount at Fastenal for name brand equipment. Fastenal also charges an insane mark up before the products even hit the shelves. So, a Dewalt drill would be the same amount with your discount from Fastenal then it would be for a non-employee to buy one from Sears or anyone else.

66% off MSRP any item in the store. Most GM's and RM's don't police it much.

Discount is phenominal, seems to be about a 10-15% markup on Fastenals landed cost, which accounts for overhead and invoicing along with freight cost.

It's not as good as it should (use) to be.
