I am a non-union employee working on the insurance side (not clinical) so it may be different for others. For me though, the 401k match is 7.5% total. How it is broken down is HP gives you an anual 5% of your salary to your 401k every year regardless of it you are contributing. On top of that they match 50% of what you put in up to 5%. I put in the full 5% so they match another 2.5%. You do have to work 3 years to be vested.

It was ok, indexes are where it's at right now. Giving your money to literally have someone else manage your portfolio is a total waste.
