the company is flexible allowing work from home

Very flexible. Eventually as the world adjusted to COVID, the company made the change for hybrid for all employees unless you were hired as a remote role or requested to become fully remote. But even those who were hybrid, in/out of office scheduling was very lax and would be enforced on a team level.

They seem friendly but they laid off lots of remote, so not sure what the real story is.

Very good to have options instead of strict rules.

They let you choose your own devices for phone and computer - mac or windows based device

Was able to work 100 percent remote

allows full remote or hybrid mode

Freedom to work from home

I would have rated this higher a year ago, but there are no benefits of working from home. If you want any benefits (equipment/food/commuter benefits/laundry/etc.) you must go to the office.
