For the energy industry, I would rate the 401k plan here as terrible. They match your contribution 1:1 up to a max of 6% salary, that is the only decent part about it. Do not put a % salary limit on personal contributions!! This is the most biased system I have heard of! Essentially you are telling people that they are not allowed to save as much as their coworkers making more than them. If anything put a dollar limit, not percentage as to favor the already favored managers and directors.
