Vacation & Paid Time Off

No issues here, unlimited PTO is not a bait & switch benefit

Unllimited time off and the CEO encourages people to take time off and recharge.

Unlimited PTO allows for good flexibility around appointments.

PTO and paid holidays exist, but the PTO isn't enough when your work environment gets you sick all the time and the paid holidays will screw up your schedule because they want employees to work 5 days a week no matter what.

IIt is based on the hours you are work how often your paid time off refills, the paid time off is vacation, sick, etc all in one. You start with 5 days at the beginning of the year and can earn up to 10 more through the year. Every 200 working hours gets you 1 day.

Since Simplisafe now took on an investment firm in 2018 and received a billion dollars, word is, they want to start seeing it pay off a lot sooner rather than later and as a result, Simplisafe has got creative about paid holidays so even though you get the major holidays off, you no longer get paid for them because you now have to make that day you had off later in the week on one of your scheduled days off. You get just 6 paid days off a year which is based on what you would accrue after the first year of employment however....they really skate a fine line with current Massachusetts laws regarding such which is another reason they will just terminate you if they feel you are going to be expensive to hold on too. Those paid sick days along with your vacation time are intertwined as a double-edged sword so you can roll them both over to the next year or you can catch the flu and not have a vacation after year one.

You can't collect the time but if you don't use your time you get paid for it

"Unlimited" statistically means employees take less time off, and don't know how much time off is acceptable, so it adds to the stress rather than takes away from it.
