I was with them for 10 years and my pension funds accrued with TIAA-CREFF. They did quite well for such a short period. You are also given financial consulting when you wish and the freedom to move funds to other management vehicles, e.g., Fidelity. But I selected a neutral position because I am not pension savvy enough to make comparisons.
