🤔 Is loyalty to your employer ever actually worth it?

Creative Director
Was sat down unexpectedly by my ECD with feedback. The Good: they love my work, my execution, my demeanor in meetings and with client. The Bad: Need to better prioritize what to spend time on and who works on what, which projects to push the work on… my crossfunctional teams feel I push too hard on quality of work and used the word “combative.” Never had an argument, just creative deliberation (and yes, Account/Strat very much overstep into creative). What should I take from this?

Today I complete 6 months at my new brand-side role and tbh I'm so so disappointed. I'm extremely free and bored, there's barely any work, and whatever work there is, it's absolutely garbage. I used to work on campaign ideas and scripts at agencies. Here I'm writing emailers and notifications. Is this normal? My brain is thirsty for some good work. Am I being too ungrateful because at least I have a slow-paced-okay-paying-chill job?

Don't expect Chiat LA to give the layoffs the same 'Disruptive' LinkedIn treatment they gave their bronze lion wins. Leadership is always eager to humanize the agency when holding a trophy, but dead silent when handing out pink slips.

Freelance Creative Director/Copywriter
It seems that agencies have silently moved on from the Bernbach-style copywriter/art director team. And in its place, they now partner one copywriter with multiple art directors and designers. Or in other words, there’s currently way fewer writer jobs than before.

He founded a famous agency, made bank when he sold it, first to WME then to Accenture, served as CEO of the world's biggest holding company (more $ revenue than Publicis) and walks away rich and happy in his mid 50s. That's a pretty good end.
Feels like a beginning we’d all love to have.
Glad to see this and good for him. He sold Droga5 for nearly half a billion, so any work past that was purely sport or contractual.
A1 Yup!!!
Good for him.
The lead is being buried.. he’s still a vice chair of Accenture song.. if anything he’s gonna be more involved in the agency now I bet.
I no longer see his profile on LinkedIn. So unless I’m mistaken, I reckon he’s checked out (good timing perhaps?) Probably in Sydney overseeing the construction of his new house. They demolished the old cottage down a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the new build. He essentially paid $30 million for a small block of land.
Sure, the end, just like it was for Greg Hahn 😂
They can finally change the song to something else.
