How is the lateral market?
Coming to find out that the associates who are āchillā are only chill because they push all their work onto others and take all the credit for it.
Anyone find it weird how big of a chip NOT coming from privilege is to some lawyers? Seems like these people think any conversation about debt and privilege is an affront to their existence as if we were even talking about them or their qualifications. Like b, what do you want from me? Life isn't fair, I didn't determine your life. Why you bitter at me for, if this job ain't making you happy then just leave, no need to be insecure about it and say it's a money thing or whatever
Summer associates told managing partner at a happy hour last night that it was a non-starter for them if they had to work in an internal office (no windows) once they received their offers. We always start our new juniors in internals. Thoughts??
Dear partners at firms that havenāt matched market. How does it feel to be a partner at a cheap, second-rate firm that is set to get humiliated in Vault rankings? How beta do you feel when you talk to someone from Quinn, Milbank, or Susman?
This feels crazy that weāre all about to be paid below market in 6 days while McDermott, Milbank and S&C and some random others pay market
Isnt it your job to know
Based on your responses and the general vibes that stink about you, it seems like you hate your job more than we hates ours, which is impressive to say the least. You might genuinely not be cut out for white collar work. But I wouldn't go so far as to recommend you turn to blue collar... For some reason, I really doubt you have the physique for it.
It was fine til everyone from White & Case jammed it up
I left W&C last fall. It is 100% a systemic cultural issue. There is a lot of toxicity across the firm. Associates are treated poorly particularly in litigation. Some of the senior partners are tragically cruel. Everyone in my class year left. I would advise going elsewhere.
Seems like some movement but not a lot. It's been too volatile.

What market are you asking about?
