My full time job of 13+ years let me go because they decided they were going to “outsource”. This decision was made under the new owner who had only been there a year. What is the best response to give when asked why you are not with the previous employer?

Many companies reject candidates just because they are 51 years old. Doesn't a 51-year-old have the right to work? They hire fresh graduates even if they have little or no practical knowledge, but why don't they hire people who have years of experience? Experience should be valued, not ignored because of age.

I graduated last summer with a master's in chemical physics. I have decided to pursue a role as a data analyst or scientist. I believe my applications and CVs are good, but I keep getting rejected on the basis that other candidates are a better fit. Since there lacks proper feedback I am left uncertain with what i should be doing to stand out. I have tried certifications but these dont seem to add value to my application. Any suggestions would be amazing from those in the field.
