Gender affirming care is aligning your physical characteristics with your gender identity, so HRT is absolutely not gender affirming care.
To be honest, screening for healthy testosterone levels should be a part of regular checkups. It shouldnāt factor into performance evals or anything like that though.
Hegseth is a buffoon but this is absolutely a good thing and men should not have low T. Itās not just physical in terms of recovery from training, greater MPS, increased muscle mass and strength but also executive function - brain fog, decision-making, mental clarity. A lot of men can fix it by losing body fat, optimizing sleep and stress, but it doesnāt always work as there are a lot of environmental factors disrupting our endocrine system today. I lived with low T for 6 years and getting on TRT was the absolute best decision Iāve ever made and I wouldnāt be where I am in life without it. Unfortunately, itās lifelong but I cannot fathom living a low T life.
What is currently stopping servicemembers for getting treated for low T?
