In Spring 2019, First Place launched a diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative, beginning with the training of Board members and the Leadership Team, followed by the development of a DEI Steering Committee and the recruitment and selection of a Core Equity Team with a diverse representation of staff and former program participants.
With a desire for actionable equity for all people, the CET focuses on addressing race equity as it catalyzes the conditions for diversity, at large.
