I am extremely disappointed that I spent the time to fill out an online application. As soon as I hit enter, I received a confirmation email and a second email (with the same time stamp) stating, "At this time, we have chosen to move forward with candidates that more closely align with the experience and skill set we are seeking. If that changes, we will certainly reach back out to you." Obviously, 3M is allowing a computer filtering program to make decisions for them. I have 10 years of progressive experience in the training field and 5 years of computer programming experience, The computer program deemed me not qualified. I only apply for jobs that I find interesting and am able to do. Not one person at 3M will have the chance to even consider me because of a computer filtering program. In my years of experience, I have found that not all packages are wrapped perfectly. But, at least I open them to see what is inside. I would suggest that 3M make some tweaks to their application filtering. They are probably missing out on some great candidates, but don't know it because they disqualify them before any real person sees the information.
