I set up an interview in store after applying online. The store owner came off as very forward and hostile... undermined a lot of my previous experience and acted like learning to do everything was going to be significantly harder than my experience in retail or fast food... really don’t see stocking, food prep, cashiering, or even learning how to do the lottery very hard. I did cashiering for a grocery store that still had the older registers were you key everything in and do the math yourself. Also did a lot of the stocking there too... tried to explain I was pretty familiar with the concept, but wasn’t acknowledged for it. I felt like he thought he was talking to a kid, but I’m almost 25 I didn’t really need a lecture about work ethic. Still wanted to hire me, but for like $1 less than what I was asking for. They also weren’t going to pay for this test I had to take that was 2 1/2 hours long. They wouldn’t put me on the schedule until after I had been trained and taken that test which is fine if you can go a couple weeks with like 6 hours of pay each. Wasn’t do-able for me or my situation since I depend on a steady income. They wouldn’t pay for the uniform either which is ridiculous because even a place as cheap as McDonald’s does that. Your experience here probably depends on who owns and runs the place.
