Interview
I had 3 interviews for a security role specializing in Incident Response (IR). The initial experience with the recruiter and hiring manager was pleasant and quick. The job itself sounded more challenging than I expected and could have easily been mid-level rather than junior. I gave a neutral experience because after the final interview it looked like that I was going to be contacted way later than I was told I would or not at all. As feedback, I would say that they need to work on their communications even if they do not give an offer. Better not leave people hoping and/or in the dark! I had to send 2 reminders and was kinda left to believe that I will actually be considered for an offer and probably I was already rejected the next day after the interview.

Question 1
The first interview consisted of basic HR questions about my interest in the company, previous work experience, and skillset, and questions about IR and if I had a similar experience in the past. The second interview was with 2 members of the Security team and focused on skillsets and job responsibilities, including a short vulnerability assessment that could have been added to the final interview. The third interview was technical, with questions about networking and Linux related to security, web app attacks and protection (brute force, password spraying etc.), phishing, what to look for data protection for a vendor, encryption/hashing/encoding, and a simple Python task (write a one-line script from scratch). Basic knowledge of IT and Security matters I would say. Could have focused more on the Security side. You need scripting skills otherwise it is not a recommended position.

Interview
Nach dem ersten Kennenlerngespräch gab es ein Gespräch mit einigen Teammitgliedern. Daraufhin ein technisches Interview. Das war alles ok. Nach dem technischen Interview wurde mir gesagt, dass ich spätestens nächste Woche Rückmeldung erhalten würde. Ich habe erst 4 Wochen später eine Rückmeldung bekommen: "Die Stelle wird doch nicht besetzt".

Gespräch: Detailierte technische Fragen - Was macht man bei Angriff X - Wie überprüft man ob ein Dienstleister gut mit Kundendaten Umgeht - Was ist ARP Spoofing, was ist Hashing/Encoding/Compression - Ganz simple Python Aufgabe und ähnliches
