Horrible interview experience. Do NOT recommend. Didn't take it seriously at all, the EA interviewing was horrible and just ran out of the room after 5 minutes and never came back. No follow-up after. Was extremely unprofessional.

I recently interviewed for a position at AES. I went on 4 interviews, 2 being with the managers I would support. Had productive conversations with them. Sent everyone personalized thank you emails afterwards. I followed up with the HR rep about a week after my last interview to see if there was anything else they needed. The recruiter said she received positive feedback, and the managers loved my profile. She also said that they "definitely want to move forward with me". I then didn't hear anything and followed back up again a week later. Less than 24 hours after that, I received a generic email (not from the HR rep) saying that AES decided to move in a different direction. There is always this high expectation for candidates to present their best selves in the interview process. The same should be said about the company and their representatives. Certainly not upset that the hiring managers decided to move in a new direction, that is their prerogative. However, it would have been appropriate, and at the very least respectful to the candidate's time to receive some communication about that. Candidates need feedback on the status of their applications, even if they get rejected.
