Person I talked to was nice and personable and the meeting was pleasant. However that is about the only compliment I could give.
From what I've gathered Akkodis is a predatory staffing company that profits from exploiting naive or desperate employees. There are several things wrong with their business strategy:
・Hiring people as contractors to avoid providing benefits is gross. People deserve decent conditions such as medical and sick time off.
・Paying people 25% below market rate and pocketing the difference is robbery. Sure every business needs to make money, but to do so to the point where a specialized position pay barely more than minimum wage is unconscionable.
One more thing that I noticed which is probably the most glaring issue, and I don't know if this the company's modus operandi or just the person I talked to:
・Using tactics such as gaslighting and bluffing to get potential employees to fill the job is NOT OKAY. Examples from my conversation: telling me that it would be very difficult for a person of my qualifications to find something better; stating that it's expected to have the position filled within the week when this same position has been posted for at least a month.
