Interview
I have been invited to two separate interviews for the same Aldi store location. The first interview was for a Lead Associate position, while the second was for a Store Associate role. Despite my 20+ years of experience in retail and customer service, the store manager expressed skepticism about my ability to function effectively as a Retail Clerk.
The manager appeared disinterested during the interview and questioned why I had not applied at other companies. As a German national, I grew up with Aldi and have extensive knowledge of the company's operations. However, the interview felt very awkward and off-putting.
I had initially applied for a full-time position, but was informed upon arrival that the role was only part-time, which I found to be misleading. I am disappointed by Aldi's business practices in the United States, as they seem to deviate from the retail and labor standards common in Germany. I waisted my time and money going to the interview.
