Question 1
How would you handle this situation: your manager has left without any warning, what are your first steps?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ALTEN (London, England) in Jan 2023
Interview
It took them 6 rounds, 6 people and 1 month to realise I was not the best fit for a role where you get trained for 18 months, I am sure that long was enough to train anyone at that point. So the Talent Heads of the company are either incompetent or the higher management does not trust their work, as the talent team gasses you up and even coaches you, only to reject you after a two minutes long what I would call was the worst interview I have ever taken in my life with the Division Director. One interviewer legit walked out in the middle of an answer and the other interviewer failed to make an eye contact during an answer. I was constantly anxious, watching him scribble something aggressively on my CV, trying to hope our eyes would meet which only looked more awkward as I was only looking a his loud pen.
I received a mail that said the the rejection does not reflect on my qualities or skills and it was very well written by ChaGPT as the person forgot to edit the signing off from [company name] to Alten, but I hope this rejection very well does reflect on my skills if your company ate up an entire month from my life. I tried following up and hoped for a call so they could at least maintain a relationship, but the entire team is a ghost.
Not recommended.
