I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at AQR Capital Management (Greenwich, CT) in Feb 2014
Interview
Very negative experience.
I applied online and they called me on site for face to face interview.
They spent over an hour in interview and I really thought the interviews went well.
They sent me off saying it was good and all and we will contact you.
Few days passed, I called the HR - no response.
Few weeks passed, I called the HR, emailed them - no response.
Few months passed - no response still (even though I followed up).
That's ok if you don't like the candidate, or that's ok again if the position no longer exists, but at least respect the candidates and inform them whether you are going ahead or not.
I see other interview reviews suggesting the same. What's the big deal in respecting people who are taking their personal days off to come to your office for interview?
hackerrank then call with member on team. Hackerrank is easy and medium. Call with member on team to go over experience and some behavioral questions awkward interviewer. Didn't make it that much further
Recruiter screening and then online technical around and then personality round. Was told they extended an offer to someone else after that round. Didn't score perfectly on the technical but still made it through.
The process took 3 months. I interviewed at AQR Capital Management in May 2024
Interview
I was reached out for an initial HR interview. Afterwards was another interview with HR. After passing those it's on to the final interviews. This part is 5 interviews without a break between any of them. It is basic leetcode/system design questions along with some meetings with HR. Communication is horrendous. AQR doesn't get back to you for weeks after an interview, you need to constantly email them for an update. Don't waste your time, the 7 interviews I had took over 2 months, and I didn't get a rejection until I contacted them a month after my final interview.
