I did seven rounds of interviews for a role that was being backfilled. Only one person out of seven gave me more than five minutes of time to provide my own direct input or ask questions. They are strongly in favor of behavior and situational style questioning. The person scheduling interviews was very slow to follow up or provide an itinerary. At one point I was never even sent the link to join one of the calls we scheduled. After talking to the direct reports the feedback about the state of the department was very poor and work life balance was nonexistent for this sweet person. I appreciated their candor. I was never contacted with any follow up to let me know the role was filled after a significant time commitment. Overall my experience was poor but it was at least nice to know early on that we would not find alignment.
