      Part Time Sales Consultant Interview

      Jul 20, 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Cerritos, CA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at AT&T (Cerritos, CA) in Jun 2021

      Interview

One thing I should point out Is that I had to really take the initiative to communicate myself, not HR and/or management at the location-to make even the bare minimum effort to be timely and maintain open communication. Plus the website is outdated, non-user-friendly. HR's excuse as to why they took 2 weeks to follow up was that they were trying to figure out which position I wanted, full-time or part time-despite me telling the manager full-time. I can speculate that the manager thought I wasn't sure of what I wanted but that was only due to the fact that they had pushed the offer onto me so aggressively and suddenly with only 2-3 hours to make my decision. Anyways, the manager must've said something because Hr was confused as to what I wanted despite agreeing to full-time because of then applying for a position at another store. Mind you I only applied to the other store because I thought I was no longer In consideration for the original position I had accepted after not being reached out to by HR or the managers for nearly two weeks! No phone call, no message, or email, nothing. After Clarifying everything via a call I decided to downgrade to part-time (my original application) as I found my experience as a series of red flags which had me frustrated and concerned. The easiest part of the process was the video interview and even that had issues with the user-friendliness of navigating the layout and features. Everyone's experience varies when it comes to interviews. I found mine to be delayed and obscenely miscommunicating with a lack of punctual follow-ups. The HR rep assigned to handle my hiring process took nearly 2 weeks just to get back to me and I was in the dark during that entire time. That is until I took initiative to call the manager for the site I interviewed with who was shocked that I hadn't heard anything during those two weeks which had cost me my original estimated start date. Quite funny, they expect you to follow through with the process of paperwork as soon as within 24 hours and yet the people I dealt with didn't abide by the same standard.

      Interview

The video interview was average. You can record your answers as many times yo like. Very basic questions, like why do want to work for At&t, and a few situational questions. It takes a while to hear back from them; its been over a week no updates yet.
