I was contacted by HR for an initial screening and later scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager. During the interview, the main question asked was whether I had experience working in a pharmaceutical laboratory. My background is in analytical work in a different industry, which was already described in my resume. It seemed the interviewer may not have reviewed the resume beforehand. Overall, the interview was brief and focused primarily on industry-specific experience.
If the experience does not align with the role, it would be more respectful to decline earlier rather than scheduling an interview. Otherwise, it ends up being a waste of time for both sides.
