I received an email from Achievement First to schedule a phone interview, along with some bullet points of what to expect in the interview. They will most likely have you check out the website and read an article. The interviewer was pleasant although very obvious we’re mostly focused on finding individuals from diverse backgrounds. Be prepared to have a very good reason why you want to work in a diverse environment.

How would I go about correcting a higher up, when they continue to make a mistake pronouncing a students name?
There’s an initial phone call that is first part of the interview, and then you complete the second part of the application where you answer interview questions via video. It’s not live but you record yourself answering the questions within a certain time limit. Afterwards, once you get accepted by the program you get an offer from a school and you do one final interview (supposed to be around 90 minutes with demo lesson, role play, questions about your teaching philosophies/techniques) with the school’s administration.

The process was very organized and timely. It was a very professional process. They were clear on their expectations for the interview process. At the beginning of the interview I was able to present my demo lesson and received quality feedback.
