      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Acumatica in Jan 2024

      Interview

Recruitment Process: Positive Experience The recruiter I worked with was exceptional, demonstrating a genuine commitment to matching the right candidate with the right company. Her compassionate and open approach facilitated meaningful discussions, setting a promising tone for the process. Interview with the CIO: Disappointing and Unprofessional Unfortunately, the experience took a downward turn during the interview with the CIO. Despite the high priority of this role for Acumatica, the CIO arrived 6 minutes late without acknowledgement or apology. The interview lacked structure and depth. The CIO asked only two questions: "Tell me about yourself" and "Are you technical?" There was no effort made to explore my extensive experience or discuss how it aligns with the needs of Acumatica. Unprofessional Conduct: The CIO began eating lunch during our conversation, which not only disrupted the flow of the interview but also demonstrated a lack of respect for the process and for me as a candidate. Interruptions and Lack of Clarity: My attempts to outline my background and technical expertise were frequently interrupted. The CIO pressed on technical aspects without context, failing to provide any insights about the role, the company, or its culture. Berating Attitude: The CIO's demeanor was confrontational, and his inquiries felt more like interrogations. This approach was counterproductive and did not facilitate a constructive dialogue. Abrupt Conclusion: The interview ended prematurely as the CIO hung up mid-conversation, which was not only rude but also a clear indicator of a lack of professional decorum. Overall Impression While the recruitment process showed promise, the actual interview experience was a stark contrast. The lack of professionalism and respect shown by the CIO was deeply disappointing. It raises concerns about the company culture and the value Acumatica places on potential employees. Advice to Prospective Candidates While the initial stages of recruitment may be positive, be prepared for a potentially challenging experience during the interview phase. It is crucial to gauge not only the role but also the work environment and leadership style you will be exposed to.
