7 week process in total. One pre-screen interview with the recruiter who said this job was a back-fill for someone who was promoted. I found out that no; during the last company reorg, they took the social media team of 4 down to one junior person who left the company because they were overwhelmed. The second interview with the hiring manager a couple of weeks later went really well. After multiple attempts at a follow-up from me, I was asked to do a "homework assignment." I was given an appointment in their flagship/new store in North Hills to meet the store manager (who had no clue I what I was doing there) and gave me one hour to film whatever I could to create a 30-60s Instagram reel. Not only did I submit a '60s IG reel, but I also created a second IG posting and created a campaign strategy plan with an outline and scripting for multiple other postings. Then, I followed up multiple times again to be finally told that I was moving on to the four person panel interview (one person was a no-show). Then I waited another two weeks (the hiring manager had been on PTO off and one for more than three weeks of the 7-week process) with me following up to crickets. Only to receive a "thanks but no thanks" email from the recruiter. There is zero feedback and absolutely no professional courtesy in the matter. I asked for feedback to be blown off again, and the recruiter was leaving it up to the hiring manager to give feedback. Well, the hiring manager was out of the office AGAIN for another week.
