I applied through a recruiter. The process took over 1 month, including 1 technical interview on coderpad and then a virtual ‘onsite’. This first technical interview was typical and gave me a little time to learn more about the role and the team. The ‘onsite’ was 3.5 hours, and included 1 additional technical interview, which consisted of the interviewer ‘pop-quizzing’ me with about 40 stats, ML, python, and product questions for an hour (over the allotted time limit), leaving no time for discussion or questions. Although I learned little about the role and the team during this set of interviews, it revealed plenty of red flags about the work culture. After the virtual ‘onsite’, they ghosted me.

After initial phone contact with recruiter, I had to follow up every time to get to set up tech screen with HM. It was general 1 hour round with questions on past projects, ML standard questions.
I was invited to onsite interview. Again I had to follow up to get this scheduled. Now the fun part, I was scheduled for something 3 weeks away. It was supposed to be 1hr data engineering, 1hr problem solving, 1 hr F2F with VP, 1 hr F2F with HM. What actually happened -- there was 1hr data engineering, 1hr problem solving, half hour with VP because he another meeting, 1 hr of phone round with HM with bad reception. In the half hour with VP, there were several questions and since time was not enough he asked me to email him answer later. Similar thing happened with HM too. I have no idea why they didn't re-schedule if they were not available.
As I learned from the HR person, the expected pay of Sr. Data Scientist in Massachusetts is about 150k not 123k as reported in glassdoor. They pay well but people scientifically unqualified.
