Submitted an application through their job site and was contacted by HR almost immediately. I answered normal pre-screening questions about my abilities, experience and career goals. Then I was invited onto the site to meet with the hiring manager, who was a very polite and friendly individual. I immediately felt at home. He asked me questions about myself and proposed that I should come up with a quick statement about myself at the end of the interview. He asked me technical questions about chemistry and about what I knew of the company. Luckily, I had done my homework and he was impressed with my thoroughness. I was invited back for a group interview which turned out to be an assessment of how well I meshed with the group. Everyone was very friendly and asked me more questions about myself rather than drilling me about what I knew. Agilent really prides itself on the kind of people they hire and not their knowledge.

I interviewed for a Manufacturing Technician role at Agilent Technologies Singapore in February 2025. It was an in-person interview with a panel of two interviewers and lasted for about an hour. The interview primarily focused on my experience, which felt unusual since I was a fresh graduate and they were already aware of that. The interviewers repeatedly asked similar questions about my experience, and at one point, one of them had a strange smile when I spoke about my skills and knowledge. They then rephrased a question, saying, "But you don’t have any experience or skills, so isn’t this irrelevant?"—which I found odd and somewhat dismissive. At the end of the session, they informed me that I would receive an update within three weeks. True to their word, I received the update exactly three weeks later. Overall, while the interview was structured, the focus on experience for a fresh graduate role and the interviewer's demeanour made the experience feel somewhat discouraging.
