Aha! was one of the most demeaning and disrespectful candidate experiences I've encountered in my entire career. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly spoken to like I was interviewing for my first job out of school, even though I had more years of experience than the position required. Interviews felt patronizing and condescending. I received bizarre, unsolicited feedback about my "confidence", even though I am experienced at interviewing and actually felt very confident during the entire process. I was also provided contradictory instructions for the written assignment. This mistake was never corrected. Instead, I received a curt email about my "inexperience", in spite of having almost a decade of professional experience directly related to the role. I definitely think I dodged a bullet. My issue with Aha! isn't that I didn't receive an offer, but that I didn't receive an ounce of courtesy or respect during the interview process.

Question 1
What is your writing process like? How do you handle feedback?
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are trying to understand what role you interviewed for because we have not been recruiting for a writer in some time. Your sentiment also does not reflect what people experience when they meet with us or our process which is focused on valuing every single person and their time. If you did meet with us about a role and did have the experience described, I apologize. Every single person should be fully respected. We wish you the very best and hope you have found the ideal role.

Interview
My interview process consisted of four total interviews and a timed writing assignment, with several calls to references near the end. The process moved very quickly.
I found the interview process to be very engaging, though rigorous! The team members I spoke to were very interested in why I cared about this role and how I thought it would benefit my growth, not just how I would benefit the team.

Interview
First-round interview with HR was a little awkward - felt very standard, no customization to my resume, and the rep was not dressed professionally. Made me not even want to do a second interview. Second-round interview was much better.
