I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
Very positive experience from start to finish. The recruiter and team I interviewed with were very welcoming and supporting. Even though they chose to go with a different candidate we still keep in touch about other roles and openings at the company.
Started with a recorded one sided video interview which was a new experience for me. I'm not a huge fan of this since it is very impersonal but good to understand basic background. However, the video interview and onsite were wonderful and focused on getting to know who you are as a person.
They were very kind and thorough. Very focused on company values. The downside is they ghosted me after two interviews, which was a bummer since I was excited about the position.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (New York, NY) in Jan 2021
Interview
It felt very forced as if they were just going through the motions. I felt like there was likely someone already being considered and the interview was a formality or an exercise that wasn't expected to result in an offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name a difficult time when you had to deliver bad news?
They reached out for me to complete their video interview. I didn't make it past the video interview round. The interview was confusing as it showed the question and then gave you about 15 seconds to think before responding.
