I don't normally write negative reviews, but I felt the need to post something about my negative experience. I find the recruiter unprofessional and not responsible. I emailed the recruiter before my interview with the hiring manager, asking what type of interview this would be and if there's anything I need to prepare. The response I got was: they will only ask about my past projects and the HM will share more details about the role. However, I was asked both SQL and product case questions for 45 mins in the interview with the HM, which I was completely unprepared for and felt both shocked and overwhelmed. I didn't do my best because anyone in the data field knows product case questions generally require at least a little bit of preparation, especially the framework. The case interview wasn't even that hard, and I've passed harder cases interviews at other companies with some preparation, but I was hit out of blue this time, because of the irresponsibility of the recruiter. Pro tip for everyone, don't always trust the words of the recruiter.
I applied online. I interviewed at Airtable in Aug 2022
Interview
Initial interview covers metrics, product sense and SQL(no need to code). Onsite has multiple rounds including 1 hour rounds covering SQL, product sense, experimentation, 1 hour presentation of take home etc.... In general, I wouldn't do this interview again. Process was unnecessarily long and the take home was simply out of place.
