Interview
A recruiter from Airwallex scheduled interviews with two product managers for the first and second rounds, and a PM director for the last round. The interview process took about two weeks. However, during the interviews, the company seemed to misunderstand the nature of product management cases. Although the recruiter and interview guide claimed to be asking product cases, the actual questions were more akin to consulting cases. Candidates were expected to use a consulting framework to answer the questions, rather than approaching the problem from a product perspective. If candidates attempted to understand the customer problem before outlining their structure, interviewers would often redirect them to follow their directions instead. It's worth noting that most Airwallex PMs have consulting backgrounds, which may explain the company's emphasis on consulting cases in the interview process. The interviewer also mentioned that Airwallex's CEO is very hands-on. This suggests that the PM team may function more like a client service team for the CEO, where execution and meeting client requests are top priorities. So what they are looking for are ex-consultants, rather than experienced PMs

One of those where you get encouraged to apply by their recruiter and then you get rejected after stage 1 for "being overqualified". The worst part? Lack of feedback, even when requested.
