I applied online. I interviewed at Airwallex (Singapore) in Jun 2025
Interview
HR Screening Call > Engineering Screening > Coding Interview > System Design Interview > Bar Raiser Interview with cross team Head
Initially, I applied for a Senior role position in Singapore. However, the recruiter found that my skills were a better fit for another team, so my profile was handed over to a different recruiter.
The recruiter was very helpful and clearly explained the company culture and core values. During the Engineering Screening, the conversation went smoothly and focused mainly on my past experience and the most impactful projects I had contributed to at my current or previous company. The Engineering Director is very open for question, so please prepare your questions to him/her. Getting to know your future team is good.
In the Coding Interview, the interviewer was also friendly and asking my past experience in 10-15mins in the beginning of session. Previously, the recruiter told me that the programming problem would be medium-hard level. But, the problem itself was not that hard. However, something felt off during the session in terms of alignment or expectations, and I’m still unsure what went wrong. I was able to solve the programming challenge, delivered the solution within the time limit, and the approach was quite efficient. Still, I wasn't selected to proceed to the next interview stage. I do not know exactly what kind of candidate they are looking for. Maybe, It was about the communication skills or the other things. Do not have the idea about the result. My interview stopped in this step.
